Proverbs 24:27 Prepare thy work without, And make it ready for thee in the field; And afterwards build thy house.
1Kor 15:58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.
Matthew 6:31-33 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.
Ezechiel 36:33-36 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded. 34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by. 35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited. 36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Jehovah, have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and I will do it.
5Moses 28:1-2 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth: 2 and all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: 2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
God promises and also really provides full supply to those who work at His field. He blesses them tangibly in all of areas of their lives - spiritually, mentally and materially as well (5M 28.chap, Psalm 1:1-3 and other places). We can rely on this blessing. False humility and fears from possible difficulties accompanying His blessing (e.g. in business) are unnecessary, because “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it” (Psalm 10:22).
God’s promise of blessing is for people who seek God’s kingdom and work on His behalf. (Matt 6:33). It involves people who love God, who follow Him with all of their hearts and therefore obey Him. (5M 28:1). That is why they work on God’s field in unselfish way. Their priority to their own provision is “the Kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matt. 6:33). They can rest assured that God guarantees to take care of them (Matt 6:31-33). And we can see this provision in lives of people who are fully submitted to God.
The fact that God chose man to build His kingdom is marvelous. Though He has power to create all by Himself and without any help (as He proved it at the Creation), He decided to build God’s eternal kingdom through imperfect, formerly lost, sinful people.
He could, as their creator, force them to work on His field by His might and power but that is not His character. He deals with us in love. He simply rejoices over us – His children – when we prosper. Such mentality is inseparable part of His character. For this reason He blesses us. For this reason He sacrificed His own son. For this reason He gave us eternal life in Jesus Christ – in the kingdom that we have been invited to build. And it is clear that such approach to us and blessing that we receive from Him is a very strong motivation to work for Him. Blessing makes our gratefulness and love to Him grow in us. And out of this appreciation and love we work willingly and with zeal on God’s plans. God needs grateful, willing and loving people to make His plans come through. And God has plans that He doesn’t hide – He presents them in the Scripture. He challenges us help Him to fulfill them, He then undertakes to provide for us in such a case.
One decides by himself if he is going to be blessed or not – the deciding factor is his attitude to God’s offer. Very intimate relationship rises between God and man and out of this two-sided love grows ministry and service for God.
God’s blessing is more than a gift or “a paycheck”.. It is an expression of God’s favor towards us that manifests as systematic, long-term operating of good things into one’s life. And such a blessing has an impact through us on people around us. (Ez 36:33-36).
